Italy to Kenia by car: looking for any suitable infos

I am planning my long journey throughout Africa, from Italy to north Marocco (Tanger) by ferry and then down to MAURITANIA, MALI, NIGER, CHAD, CAR, ZAIRE, UGANDA, TANZANIA ending to the shore of south Kenya (Diani beach) by car. My porpouse is : traveling without " a watch on my wrist "; looking around for interesting things; seeking adventorous paths; giving me time for thinking; and enjoying whatever happens.I am driving my own Land Rover 110 turbo diesel, expecially modified for desert and savana trips.I am looking for any suitable infos and possibly other people with their own cars willing to have though and deep sensations into deserts and lonely places.
I am going to leave Italy at the beginnig of octobre 98, but no ending date has already been put forward; presumably 6 to 8 months, althogether.
