Se ogni tanto il vostro GPS fa fatica a prendere i satelliti dopo aver stazionato mesi imboscato al buoi, casualmente( schiacciando qua e la) ho trovato una combinazione di tasti che lo rimette subito in sesto!

schiacciare i tasti POWER e ENTER contemporaneamente, vi compare una schermata insolita, mai vista una specie di bios del gps, c'è un test dei tasti, vi segnala temperatura ecc... spegnete, riaccendete e come di incanto parte immediatamente la ricerca, senza perdere nessun dato in memoria(WP, track, impostazioni varie)
Altre combinazioni, fornitemi a suo tempo da LoneLand, sono riportate qui sotto, solo che le combinazioni fanno perdere i dati memorizzati


User Reset
When the unit is turned off, keep the POWER and QUIT keys pressed until this question is displayed:
"DO YOU REALLY WANT TO ERASE ALL USER DATA? YES/NOT"
Warning! Answering Yes to the question will erase all user supplied data (such as tracklogs, waypoints and routes) and preferences (such as setups), and the whole unit will be set back to factory defaults

Master Reset (does this one work?)
When the unit is turned off, keep the POWER and OUT, QUIT, NAV/MOB keys pressed for 10 – 12 seconds.
Warning! This will clear all data including the almanac data and temperature compensation curves for the crystal oscillator! Eventually the compensation curves will be reconstructed, but it takes time

Restore
If the unit "crashes" (as Windows may do) when flashing firmware or it does not power-on, try re-flashing the firmware:
When the unit is turned off, keep the POWER and PAGE, ENTER, DOWN keys pressed to turn on the unit. Also keep the last three keys pressed when re-flashing the firmware with a good copy

Warning! The self test and user reset only have been verified!

Sul GPS V, e credo anche sul 276, nella schermata che appare con POWER+ENTER c'è anche il voltaggio di alimentazione, lo uso per controllare lo stato della batteria di macchina/moto, comodo.

....per curiosita', ho provato il giochetto con lo street pilot III color, mi ha sputacchiato il musetto!!!! Qualcuno sa di piu su questa vecchia badante romena*? Questo ho e mi tengo finche' non schiatta.

Se non è POWER+ENTER, a naso sarà POWER + qualcos'altro.

...dici che posso cercare combinazioni varie a casaccio senza combinare guai??? Sai com'e' in Garmin,se per caso gli massacri qualche settaggio, te lo tengono sei mesi e al minimo sono cento euri piu spese di trasporto.

Al massimo puoi resettare tutto e perdere tutti i dati e le configurazioni in memoria.
Comunque:

StreetPilot III MASTER RESET:
Press and hold QUIT+ROUTE+UP,then press and release POWER,then release UP,wait 15 seconds and unit will power up

Leo, credo che tu possa andare tranquillo, come vedi nel post di Lone le cose "pericolose" si attivano con sequenze più complesse che a volte non ti bastano le dita di due mani per premere assieme tutti i tasti necessari e comunque male che vada più "pericolosa" è la cosa e più ci sono richieste di conferma prima di procedere.
A suo tempo sul mio GPS V ho provato POWER + tutto (solo 1 tasto alla volta...) e non ho scassato nulla, così andò a me, poi...
