Tre giorni bellissimi realmente in mezzo alla giungla, un ecosistema misterioso per noi occidentali e magari difficile da interpretare! I locali si muovono con agilità e vedono cose tra le foglie che noi non vediamo, conoscono i canti degli uccelli e gli urli delle scimmie e i fruscii della foresta! Per noi dormire sulle case galleggianti con il canto delle rane, il verso dei giechi, le piccolissime formiche, è stato magico! Quando il generatore alle 10 viene spento, la luce sparisce il suono del mondo cambia! Il cielo si illumina di stelle luminosissime che brillano di,luce intensa e la luna sta appesa orizzontalmente. All’alba il richiamo dei gibboni è un canto primordiale che risveglia in me il legame profondo che a casa sento sempre camminando nei boschi.Pachamama (madre terra) fa sentire il suo canto!

Il parco nazionale di Khao Sok si estende per più di 600k quadrati ed è molto importante dal punto di vista della conservazione di aree naturali per la dimensione e la difficoltà di accesso. E’ il più importante nel sud della Tailandia e per il suo clima e’ paragonabile alla foresta amazzonica. Il parco ha un accesso principale da Khao Sok da cui in modo indipendente si possono percorrere dei facili sentieri con un circuito di circa 7km , se ci si vuole spostare oltre, occorre prenotare una guida. I costi non sono bassi, ingresso a parco 300bht con checkpoint e guide da 1500bht a 5,000 (fino a 200 $) dipende da dove si va e durata. Il secondo accesso ha punti più interessanti e via acqua con longtail boats, le tipiche barche tailandesi per pesca e ora turismo. Negli anni 90 infatti è stata creata una diga e le popolazioni delle valli sono state rilocate, nel fondo del lago ora giace un intero paese con tanto di scuola e pagoda! Si è così creato un grande lago con profondità fino a 150mt che viene usato per generazione elettrica e come riserva di acqua dolce. Vicino alla diga c’è il molo. Viaggiatori fai da te non pensate di risparmiare andando al molo e trovando una barca. nesuno è disposto a prendervi, una lancia tutta per voi che vi costerà 4.000-5.000 bht ($200) per tre ore (12 16 posti) Vi conviene prendere un tour organizzato dall hotel o ostello dove siete, vi organizzano il bus per prendervi a Kao Sok portarvi al molo portarvi a spasso e riportarvi indietro.

The Khao Sok national park covers more than 600 Sq. km. and is very important from a conservative point of view due to its size and difficulty of access. It is the most important in southern Thailand as its climate is comparable to the Amazon forest. The park has a main access from KHao Sok from which independently you can take easy paths with a circuit of about 7km, if you want to move further you need to book a local guide. Costs are not low, entry to park 300bht with checkpoints and guides from 1500bht to 5000 bht (up to $200) depends on where you go and duration. The second access to more interesting points is by water with longtail boats, the typical Thai boat used for fishing/transport and now tourism. In the 90s a dam was created and the population of the valleys were relocated, today at the bottom of the lake there’s an entire submerged village. This has created a large lake with depths of up to 150 meters that is used for electricity generation and as a reserve of fresh water. Near the dam there is the pier. (Da 50 a quasi 1000 $)Noi abbiamo optato per 2 giorni con una notte a dormire su case galleggiante , costo.2500bht ($100) a testa Il giro comprende una escursione in barca finora case galleggianti, tempo libero con uso di kayak , pranzo, passeggiata nella giungla (3km giro) raggiungimento ingresso grotta Namtalu Cave , attraversamento della grotta , rientro a case galleggianti, “Safari” (giro in barca serale) , cena e tempo libero serale , alle 11.00 il generatore si spegne . La nostra esperienza si è distaccata un po’ dallo standard, a causa di gruppo un po’ malmesso ( bambini , persone poco atletiche e guida svogliata) non abbiamo fatto la grotta da inizio a fine quindi abbiamo deciso di rimanere in altra notte e rifare il giro con altro gruppo. Non è stata una cattiva idea , al quel punto in attesa del prossimo Grup eravamo gli unici turisti, e abbiamo più tempo per girare con kayak in pace e tranquillità e conoscere un po’ i lavoratori della stazione ‘#4 Tone Toy raft house’ imparando qualche gioco di carte. Una notte costa 1000bht ($42) testa colazione e 2 pranzi compresi.
There are various tours ,from day trips to multiple days. From 1500 bht to 22,000 bht (50 to 1000 $) We have opted for 2 days with a night sleep out on the lake. 2500bht ($100) per head. The tour includes a boat excursion to the floating houses, free time with use of kayak, lunch, hike in the jungle (3km) reach cave entrance Namtalu Cave, crossing the cave, return to houseboats, “Safari” (evening boat ride ), dinner and evening time, at 11.00 the generator goes off. Our experience was a bit different a bit ‘from the standard, due to a group a bit’ shabby (lazy hikers, children and lazy guide) we have not done the cave, so we decided to stay in another night and redo the tour with another group coming in later. It was not a bad idea to have the place to ourselves with more time to kayak in peace and quiet and to connect a little bit with the workers of the ‘# 4 Tone Toy raft house station’ learning some card games. One night it costs you 1000bht ($40) breakfast and 2 meals includes.

Esistono molte altre raft house, alcune magari più confortevoli, la maggior parte più care. La nostra era ‘basic’ Se volete vedere animali non aspettatevi troppo in questo giro ,sicuramente vedrete scimmie (3 tipi) magari qualche lucertolona, probabilmente dei buceri (hornbill) ma per elefanti tigri, e altre cose del genere dovete spostarvi nella parte nord del lago dove il terreno meno impervio, la ridotta presenza umana (numero limitato di accessi giornalieri) la vastità del territorio sono un miglior habitat per queste specie.
Grilli Cricket
La passeggiata nella giungla può essere molto interessante se avete una guida in gamba che vi raccontera’ delle piante come il rattan per costruzione di mobili e funi, il bambù che quando giovane può essere usato per recuperare acqua pulita da bere , altri tipi di semi commestibili e piante velenose. Spesso hanno un buon occhio per avvistare animali durante i Safari . Sfortunatamente non tutte le guide nonostante corsi per diventare tali hanno la voglia o le risposte alle vostre domande. Se riuscite trovare della gente che vi piace e scegliete con loro l’escursione, se siete in un ostello magari avete meno probabilità di capitare con gente meno in forma che magari rallentano il gruppo o rischiate di non avere tempo di non fare l’escursione completa entrando da una parte e uscendo dall’altra. Niente di tremendo qualche bel ragno, grilli, pipistrelli, pesci, magare qualche serpente. Se non volete bagnarvi non fa per voi vi toccherà immergersi fino al collo. A causa di rocce a volte taglienti sandali chiusi sono meglio di ciabatte infradito o di scarpe inzuppate. se avete una lampada da testa portatela a volte le guide ve le danno altre volte vi dicono di comprarvela (50 -200 bht) Non dovete portarvi niente di speciale come indumenti, costume e maglia, prima di entrare in grotta lasciate la maglia la riprenderete al ritorno., se volete fare foto una busta impermeabile e una buona idea ricordate che magari dovete nuotare o tenervi alle rocce quindi avrete le mani occupate. Alla case galleggianti vi affittano scarpe di gomma e sacche impermeabili se ne avete bisogno.
There are many other raft houses, some more comfortable and more expensive. Our was pretty basic.

If you want to see animals do not expect too much in this tour, surely you will see monkeys (3 types) maybe some lizard, probably hornbills but for tigers elephants, and other things like that you have to move to the northern part of the lake where the less impervious land , the reduced human presence (limited number of daily accesses) the vastness of the territory are a better habitat for these species.
The walk in the jungle can be very interesting if you have a good guide who tells you about the plants like the rattan for furniture and rope construction, the bamboo that when young can be used to recover clean drinking water, other types of edible seeds and poisonous plants. They often have a good eye for spotting animals during the Safari. Unfortunately not all the guides despite courses to become such have the desire or answers to your questions. If you can find people you like and choose with them the excursion, if you are in a hostel maybe you are less likely to end up with people less fit that maybe slow down the group and so risk not having enough time to do the full excursion entering one side and exiting the other.
Nothing terribly scary , but some beautiful big spiders, crickets, bats, fish, some snakes could not be everyone cup of the. If you do not want to get wet it’s not for you, you’ll have to dive up to your neck. Because of some sharp rocks, closed sandals are better than flip-flops or shoes soaked. if you have a head lamp take it , sometimes the guides give it to you, other times they tell you to buy it (50 -200 bht)
Vegetazione fitta
You do not have to bring anything special like clothes, just a swimming gear, before entering the cave you leave the shirt you will pick it up when u return., if you want to take pictures a waterproof envelope is a good idea, remember that maybe you have to swim or keep to the rocks so you have your hands busy. At the floating house you can rent rubber shoes and waterproof bags if you need them.

La grotta Namtalu è mio avviso la migliore, interessante il ciclo vitale con pipistrelli che escono di notte a mangiare, quando rientrano i loro escrementi sono utilizzati dai grilli che a loro volta sono cibo per pesci. Durante stagione dei monsoni la grotta e’ chiusa per sicurezza, molti turisti in passato sono annegati.
I nostri giri in kayak sono stati molto belli e tranquilli se vi svegliate prima che sorge il sole e uscite è incredibile vedere la foresta svegliarsi con tutte le sue creature. È un immersione un concerto naturale!
Anche il Safari mattutino e’ interessante con la nebbia sulla foresta, i pescatori che rientrano con le loro longboat e macachi e gibboni che si fanno sentire.
Il giro si conclude con il rientro al punto di partenza , sosta ad in altra grotta (pra kie phet) piuttosto piccola ma con belle formazioni, poi passaggio obbligato alle 3 isole, delle rocce che emergono in mezzo al lago verticalmente ricoperte di vegetazione, molto fotogeniche, pranzo sulla spiaggia adiacente e via al parcheggio e bus a Khao Sok.
3 isole, 3 islands
Adesso pianifichiamo il nostro viaggio per domani a Bangkok, come al solito valutiamo tutte le opzioni e tra minibus e treno o bus e treno alla fine la soluzione migliore tra comodità e costi risulta un bus notturno che passa da KHao Sok u e arriva al terminal di Bangkok senza cambi, anzi costa anche meno di treno e cuccetta! In teoria danno anche un pranzo, sosta 20 min, che si rivelerà non degno di tale nome, il bus VIP invece è molto confortevole con 3 sedili per fila reclinabili quasi orizzontalmente.
Abbiamo quindi il giorno da spendere, il tempo vola e non vogliamo spendere altri soldi in biglietto parco , anche perché sembra che la zona liberamente visitabile senza una guida sia poco significativa. Decidiamo di andare in giro liberamente e seguiamo dei “nature trails” vicini ad un resort chiamato “our jungle house” che porta sulla riva del fiume dove vediamo scendere su canoe gonfiabili gruppi di 2 turisti per canoa con tanto di guida rematore in coda. Il fiume è molto gentile e non vediamo l’utilità del terzo… ma suppongo bisogna dare lavoro a tutti… parlando in giro sembra che il turismo sia molto ridotto negli ultimi 5 anni e prima bisognava prenotare in anticipo adesso gli hotel e ristoranti sono vuoti. Lo strano è che c’è ne sono altri in costruzione , forse i prezzi sono saliti o in Europa ci sono meno soldi. I turisti sembrano nelle città principalmente cinesi taiwanesi e in alcune zone russi. Non sempre sono interessati alla natura e preferiscono vita notturna , shopping.

The cave Namtalu is my opinion the best, interesting the life cycle … bats go out at night to eat, when they return they drop poop for the crickets that end up feeding the fish. During monsoon season the cave is closed for security, you would not be the first to be trapped in the cave.
Our kayaking tours have been very beautiful and peaceful, if you wake up before the sun rises it is amazing to see the forest waking up with all its creatures and most of all listen to the nature concert.
Also the morning Safari is nice with the mist and fog on the forest and the views of the fishermen who come back with their Long boats.
The tour ends with the return to the starting point, stop at another cave (pra kie phet) rather small but with beautiful formations, then obligatory passage to the 3 islands, rocks that emerge in the middle of the lake vertically covered with vegetation, very photogenic, lunch on the adjacent beach and off to the parking lot and bus to Kao sock.
Then we plan our trip for tomorrow to Bangkok, as usual we evaluate all options and between minibus and train or bus and train at the end the best solution between comfort and cost is a night bus that passes from Kao sock and arrives at the terminal in Bangkok without changes, it even costs less than train and bunk! Bel gruppo
So we have the last day to spend, time flies and we do not want to spend more money on the park ticket, also because it seems the area that can be visited freely without a guide is not significant. We decide to go around freely and follow the “nature trails” close to a resort called “our jungle house” takes us on the river bank where we see floating down inflatable canoes in groups of 2 tourists for canoe and a rowing guide in the back . The strange thing is that there are others under construction, perhaps prices have risen or there is less money in Europe. Tourists appear to been mainly Taiwanese , Chinese in the cities and some Russian on the beaches . Not always they are interested in nature and prefer nightlife, shopping.
